New Forest project: Head & Assistant Gardeners

Tom Stuart-Smith Studio is assisting with the recruitment of a Head Gardener and two Assistant Gardeners for projects in the New Forest, Hampshire.

The garden and landscape at a historic estate in the New Forest are currently being redeveloped by Stuart-Smith and these roles present fantastic opportunities to be involved as the landscape plans come to fruition.

The team are looking to hire very capable Head Gardener who will report directly to the Gardens Manager. The Head Gardener will be involved in all aspects of the garden and will take the lead for the management and development of staff. The team members will be working collaboratively, with each assigned individual areas of responsibility and expertise.

Strong practical experience in a variety of professional gardening areas: fruit and vegetable production, glass, plant knowledge, mixed borders, wider woodland care, and wildflower meadow development is required. Excellent references are essential.

Salary for the Head Gardener will reflect the Professional Gardeners Guild salary guidelines plus local accommodation. Assistant’s packages dependent on experience.
