RHS: Wellbeing Post-doc Fellow

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is looking to recruit a Post-doctoral Fellow to advance research in the field of wellbeing.

This position presents an opportunity to conduct innovative research, utilising the considerable reach and resources of the RHS. It will also produce peer-reviewed scientific outputs as well as informal outputs, and conduct knowledge dissemination and impact activities associated with gardens and wellbeing. A primary objective of the project will be to use research evidence to optimise the design of gardens, planting schemes, and horticulturally related health interventions to promote human well-being.

The Fellowship will also help towards the delivery of the RHS Sustainability Strategy targets on Net Positive for Nature and People, in particular People Target 2 – to design a new evidence-based Wellbeing Garden Blueprint by 2025. Applicants for this Post-doctoral Fellowship role should have a PhD in either Landscaping, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Psychology, or related and relevant discipline, together with evidence of experience leading wellbeing related research projects, with scientific rigour.

  • Salary: £42,000 – £43,000 FTE per annum
  • Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) – Hybrid/flexible working
