Established in 2020 by Mollie Higginson (New Leaf Plants), Natalie Porter (Happy Plants) and Liam Cleary (Old Railway Line Garden Centre), the YPHA unites the “scatterings” of under 35s working in horticulture, facilitate collaboration, education and innovation.

The association’s primary focus is to ensure industry appeal to a younger demographic, both in terms of future horticultural employees and future garden centre customers.

The 700 strong association is “on a mission to engage, enthuse and educate our industry’s younger contingent through zoom seminars, face to face events, and our renowned group chat”. All members work and/or train across all facets in the horticultural industry, including retailers, gardeners, growers, botanic gardens, landscaping and garden design.
