Talking Gardens Podcast

Food writer, cook and gardener Nigel Slater talks about his dream garden, front gardens, Japanese inspiration and the gardening trend that winds him up.

Talking Gardens is a podcast series created by Gardens Illustrated magazine. The host Stephanie Mahon, editor of Gardens Illustrated, asks “the great and the good of the gardening world to construct their ultimate fantasy growing space”. Already in their second series, Talking Gardens boasts an impressive line up, including Piet Oudolf, Tom Stuart-Smith and Isabel Bannerman.

In this episode, Nigel Slater talks about what he would include in his dream garden, inspirational spaces of Japan, his battle with urban foxes and the reason that fairies and soft serve ice-cream would have to be part of his fantasy garden. Intriguingly, he also explains how he managed to get Dan Pearson and Monty Don to design his own back garden.
